Oregon Zoo

The 64-acre Oregon Zoo is located in Portland, a city and surrounding metropolitan area of 2.26 million people. Annual attendance is more than 1.5 million, making the zoo the top paid attraction in the Pacific Northwest. 

 

OMSI

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is a science and technology museum in Portland, OR. It contains three auditoriums, including a large-screen theatre, planetarium, and exhibition halls with a variety of hands-on permanent exhibits focused on natural sciences, industry, and technology.

 

Portland’s Children Museum

Instead of investing in precious objects, we use familiar materials to craft priceless opportunities for children to learn through play. Our approach is inspired by the early childhood schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy; built on inquiry-based learning strategies; and influenced by a strong image of children as intelligent, creative, and resourceful.

 

Pittock Mansion

Pittock Mansion is a historic house museum in Portland, Oregon operated by the Pittock Mansion Society in collaboration with Portland Parks and Recreation. The Pittock Mansion Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The mission of the Pittock Mansion Society is to inspire understanding and stewardship of Portland history through Pittock Mansion, its collections, and programs.

 

Free Summer Events: Concerts in the Park + Movies in the Park

Portland parks offer plenty of free fun any time of year, but Portland Parks & Recreation’s Summer Free for All program ups the ante, offering over 400 free events from June to August. The entertainment at parks across the city includes free movie screenings, concerts and Zumba classes.

Portland Movies in the Park Evening after evening, summer nights in Portland parks offer families and friends the perfect backdrop to renew connections. Since 2007, crowds have gathered in parks to experience cinematic magic in an outdoor setting.

 

Portland Concerts  

It takes a fair amount of rain to keep Portland’s trees green and flowers blooming, so by June, we’re all more than ready for a long string of warm, sunny days. That pent-up desire for sunny weather may explain our skill at making the most of the long days and warm nights with outdoor concerts. Come summertime, Portland overflows with things to do — especially when it comes to music.
